Ritual Dismantling Ceremony: Tibetan Buddhist Chenrezig Sand Mandala

The ritual dismantling ceremony took place on Saturday, November 16, at 12:00 p.m. , in the Gallery. The ceremony was followed by a walk to Willow Island to disperse the sand into the Grasse River. The mandala was created by monks from Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies, Ithaca, NY, from October 21 through November 13, 2024.
St. Lawrence University’s Arts Collaborative provided major funding for the exhibition and related programs.
